The West Bank Barrier was illegally erected by the Israeli government as a means of "protection" against terrorism. In reality this wall has fostered more issues than it has actually benefited the inhabitants of the area. The wall has made it difficult and often times impossible for the local Palestinians to receive any medical attention, these are pregnant mothers and children being neglected of the necessary medical attention they deserve. The pollution resulting from the construction has been detrimental to agricultural development leading to the loss of income and sources of food for many. Previously accessible water sources are now blocked off by the military enforced barrier and millions more have been displaced by the wall, seeking new places to call home.
