If LE doesn’t have enough evidence to prosecute their suspect if he were still living, then the case cannot be considered complete, or closed. There is a reason that homicide should always be assumed before coming to the conclusion of suicide. So many murders have been staged to look like suicide. I don’t know who is guilty in this instance, but the narrative put forth is not corroborated by the evidence. If this were my family, I would not be satisfied with the rush to judgment. Why wasn’t the fbi contacted? Clearly Apple Valley PD were in over their heads, and are too prideful to admit that’s the case.
