I realized that there are things and laws that prevent all of us from pursuing the American Dream.Things that most of us seem to accept without questioning its legality. Things that prevent us from life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. One of those things is the criminal background check. Once you have committed a crime and did the time, this where it should end. A private employer shouldn't have the right to judge you on something that you've already paid for. This means that every time that a potential employer pulls a background check they're judging you all over again. Besides that, background checks can be misleading to an employer and don't really tell the kind of employee a person is. I not saying that background checks shouldn't be used in some cases, such as jobs related to public safety. But to allow private employers to invade a person privacy or allowing landlords to do background checks is illegal. These things prevent people from pursuing the American Dream. Our laws or lack of laws are design to keep the destitute, destitute. No one checks or cares about a rich person background until the bodies have plied up in the basement. We wonder why unemployment is so high. A lot of it has to with the fact that people can't pass a background check. These background checks are responsible for the rise in unemployment and the bureacrats want us to think they don't know this. So lets fight to stop this.Why should a person be punished by the law over and over again.
