This is a petition that is against the cruelty and unfairness of the One-Child policy. The government has selfishly created the One-Child Policy and although they claim it has good intentions (like helping the population andChina'speople) they are wrong and are lying and trying to hide its truereasonsfrom the public.Its been estimated that the Chinese government has collected over 2 trillion yuan ($314 billion dollars) in fees for their one-child policy law since 1980. The one-child policy states that you cannot have multiple children, and that only the first born gets an official identity. If you have more than one child, the others still do not get an identity or rights to something such as health care until the parents pay a fine.It has caused thousands to have to have to be abandoned or killed by forced government abortions. Since the 1970's, the number of adopted children each year has drastically decreased to an average of 125,000 getting adopted every year since 2000. It has left millions of children without a true home or family and stuck in their orphanage. People have started to call the one-child-policy law inhumane and others have gone as far as to speak against the government calling it corrupted and selfish for taking in the fines from the one-child policy for their salaries. With all that is going on, many would think that the government would at least watch out for all the children that are forced to leave China and get adopted. China claims that it “is a crime to abandon children in China”, however when it occurs, officials tend to just “look the other way.”. This act is rarely punished since the reason for it is “understandable” to the government. The most significant export from China is not goods or other items, it is children. In 2002 alone, the INS processed 5,053 visas for children adopted in China. Harry Wu spent 20 years in a Chinese forced labor camp. He says bluntly,”China is exporting orphans to make money.” The main reason for China’s government creating the one-child policy is not just to lessen the population, but to mainly get themselves money. The children are nothing more to them than another way for them to attain easy cash. (Small changes to the policy such as more exceptions have been made in the policy, but have not done enough and have done barely anything. The ONLY solution to this problem is to get rid of the policy! SIGN HERE so that we can finally remove the policy once and for all for the good of everyone)
