We, the undersigned aspire and request that all animal experimentation be made illgal for all accounts such as medical research in Canada. As the world evolves in mroe ways that one, many still ponder on archaic methods to expand the health care and personal industry including vivisection. Approximately, more than 250,000,000, animals are being kill and abused in Canadian laboratories every 16 seconds. But what is the purpose? For numerous reasons animal experimentation has proved to be an unacceptable option. One of which, includes taking advantage of defenseless animals whom must endured the injustice and cruelty they receive from countless tests. As George Bernard ( A Noble Literature Winner) once said, “Atrocities are not less atrocities when they occur in laboratories and are called medical research.” In addition, vivisection is proven to be unreliable and inaccurate as 92% of experimental drugs that are safe & effective in animals FAIL in human trials. As seen during the Thalidomide Tragedy of the 1960s'-1970s', when a myriad of newborns were born wiht birth defects due to the drug being used by women during their pregnancy. Furthermore, better and safer alternatives have been created and works quicker for results such as In Vitro testing (Organs-on-Chips), Computer (in Silico) Modeling, etc. Thus, we simply ask of you, when will human conviction change and animal testing will be declared as a crime in Canada.
