Our daughter just completed senior year as both an IB student and drum major. Students should not have to choose between participating in the music program and completing the IB diploma. It will result in reduced participation in both programs.

Please reconsider the proposed changes. The students are clearly making decisions contrary to the theories in which this rule was created.
The unintended consequences of this rule are already decimating a music program that has consistently rated superior and recently scored 97/100 and 98/100 in a band competition.
Please do not take away this opportunity for our young people.

Participating in the arts is critical to a child's overall learning experience, gives them confidence, and encourages them to express themselves in positive ways that other classes can't offer.
