Sad to see the end of an air show at RAF Waddington - our family have enjoyed attending them for many years, but can see it would be difficult to host a show of this magnitude on an airbase that is so crucial to our air defences. RAF Scampton would be a good alternative, especially given the history of 617 squadron and the Dambusters during World War 2.

It would be a great shame to lose the Waddington Show and an even greater shame if an alternative venue wasn't found. We all love the show and we enjoy supporting it.

A superbly well appriciated and organized air show of the modern RAF of today will be a great loss to 'Bomber County' as the face of the RAF today, The BBMF displaying the heroes of yesterday in all their glory.

I Myself Have Been Going to Airshows For Over 50 years!
And I Think Since 9/11 The RAF Air shows Have Sadly Been affected!
Over Security Issues Mainly!
I Understand As Such, That Is Why The RAF Mildenhall Air Fete's Show in May 2001
Was The Last Ever Show! Down To Security Measures Being Un-Unacceptable For The Safety Of
The General Public!
And Now 13 Years On These Same Security Measures Have Now Taken Out A Very Important Air Show at RAF Waddingdon!
I Have Been Every Year 1995-2014! and I Feel That Their Should Be a Air Show In Lincolnshire.
Say At RAF Scampton My First Choice Because Of The History Of Bomber Command,and 617 Squadron,and The Red Arrows Who Have Been Based There Since March 1983.
Yes RAF Scampton Is a Small Airbase! So It May Not Have The Right Amount of Space! For Cars Parking And The Numbers of The Public as Well!
So RAF Coningsby Is Better Suited Because it's A Much Larger Air Base!
For Parking Cars And Dealing With The Numbers Of The Public That Would Attend Such A Special Air Show In Lincolnshie!
Lastly There's Always Going To Be Security Measures To Manage At Any RAF Base Air show!
Because That Will Not Change Any day Soon!
Does That Mean That All Air shows On A RAF Base Or Royal Navy Or Even Army Base!
Should Be Cancelled? Down To The Security Measures and Because Of The State Of The World And All The Problems The World Has On Going!
I Personally Think That Should Be Considered!
But Not Keep Closeing Down Air shows Over The Fear ! Of The Possibility Of An Attack From Terrorists!

RAF Scampton would be ideal as the Lincolnshire show ground is next door and could be used for parking,as is used for the christmas market parkig.You could always use shuttle bus to the airfield which would keep the airfield safe from terrorist car bomb attack,and harder to infiltrate.

i believe we need an airshow venue in the north of England . Not only does it benefit the recruiting if future armed services it is an important part of out counter and we should be proud To display the strong arm of our defence
