We the student body of Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University take this time to address the issue of: unsatisfactory food service on our campus. On the eighteenth of February, it was brought to our attention that West Dining Hall had received a 75 on a food service inspection. This was the lowest in our county for the week. West dining hall is the main dining hall on our campus. It may serve anywhere between 500-2000 people on a daily basis. The every price for the 21 meals of week package is $1,864.0 per semester. The students and many employees have been unsatisfied with the conditions of this cafeteria. Poor food quality, lack of work ethic, cleanliness and hospitality are a few major issues. I Jeremiah Johnson a employee of Aramark at Alabama A&M are personally dissatisfied with the working conditions in Knight Complex. Employees are often over-worked and underpaid. Many are not passionate about the job and can be lazy. Lack of order and miscommunication can cause tension in the workplace. Attitudes and tempers begin to arise. Low-wages are a big factor in the poor work ethic. With most employees making a little more than minimum wage, they often find themselves in financial hardships. I believe that the workers should be paid for the skill and maybe in turn, their work ethic will improve. We have many student testimonials and examples of our unsatisfactory experiences at the cafeteria that we are willing to share in a orderly manner. With the help of the CEO of Aramark, AAMU Aramark employees, the Food and Drug Administration, board of trustees, President and the Food Service Director of AAMU we'd like to find a resolution to the unacceptable conditions.
