The limit has officially been removed. It was a long and draining road to get management to listen but this victory belongs to all of you who stuck with me. Keep an eye on your accounts to make sure things stay fair but for tonight we can finally rest.
A 7,500 following limit was recently placed on Instagram to reduce the unwanted spam. However, I have not seen a reduction of spam nor have the thousands of Instagramers that I receive emails from. The limits are being thrown on to the backs of the newcomers and this isn't fair at all. If you have been around Instagram for a while and have managed to follow more than 7,500 people then you can continue to follow as many more people as you please. The only thing the following limit has accomplished is thousands of frustrated people. There are thousands of aspiring photographers, models, businesses & people simply trying to get noticed on the popular page. The few people following 300K and with over 100K followers will continue to be on the popular page while most people will stay stuck following 7.5K and usually with 10K followers or less. Please remove the following limit to allow everyone to have an equal chance of being noticed and one step closer to their goal.
The climb toward our first milestone is exhausting but I am still here pushing forward. We need to reach these hundred signatures to prove that this platform limit is truly a problem worth fixing.

Its unfair as lots of famous bloggers started by following-to-following method and they managed to make huge numbers now they are safe and btw they are still following huge numbers i thing instagram should iblige them to reduce their following to 7500 ! Its just fair

I've reached my limit on those I can follow and have managed to do so without spamming anyone! If anyone spams me I block them which is what I'd expect people to do to me if I was bothering them. Please reinstate no limits & treat us like the adults we are. Thank you.

As a business we have a lot of people whom we follow! 7500 is decent but I have had to delete people in order to follow someone else and make more business connections! Please lift the limit?!?!?!?

Please find another way to solve the spam situation instead of limiting how many people we can follow. At least let us for the people that followed us when we get to the limit.

I have over 8,500 followers and I'd like to be fair and follow everyone back but I'm at the limit. I have a semi popular account and want to be fair back to my followers/fans.
