Every family who sent children to WashU this fall semester committed to do so within the protocols that WashU communicated, which included no return to campus if you leave for Thanksgiving. This commitment was mutual and provided families with some assurance that our students would not incur additional risk over that weekend, and further, would not return home for winter break after being exposed to a greater transmission risk the final weeks of the semester, (thereby reducing risk to their families over the long break). We urge you to institute requirements that will meet your commitment to students and families as we have agreed to meet our commitment to the WashU community. Had this not been the intention, there was no reason to start the semester late. Instead, the semester could have been started on time and students released at Thanksgiving with remote finals before year end. Please institute restrictions which will honor our commitment to you and yours to our families. Thank you.

It’s not safe to travel and being virus home or back. Also test kids week of Christmas break.
