Very sad to be leaving and ashamed of the way our government and some of its citizens and MEPs (notably Farage) have behaved. Please forgive us and welcome us back after Brexiters realise what a terrible mistake they've made.

We never wanted to leave or should I say I did not vote to leave you, our European friends & neighbours.

The last 4+ years since that rogue referendum have been sad enough but these last few weeks of the transition period make me feel a degree of desperation , sadness and hopelessness that must be akin to the feelings of a person, who has been condemned to death in a kangaroo court, awaiting execution.

Thank you. I say this with a heavy heart. Words cannot express my sorrow at this departure. I intend to pursue my study of the German and Dutch languages, and to travel with enthusiasm in our wonderful continent.

Words cannot convey the dismay that I feel leaving the EU nor the apologies I offer for the disgraceful behavior of the UK government towards you. I remain European and trust that one day we can rejoin.

You can (forcibly, screaming and kicking) take the girl out of the EU but you’ll not take the EU ❤️ out of the girl.

Thankyou for everything you've given us and I'm sorry for everything we are taking away. Believe me I think we'll be back. Not sure if you'll take us though. Why would you ? Thanks Danke Merci

The people most affected by this are the ones living in the EU. Many of those, including myself, could not vote if they had lived in Europe for 15 years or more. The tories have twice said in their manifestos that the 15-year rule would be abolished. If it had been abolished, we would still be in the EU.
