The purpose of this petition is to acknowledge and thank the administration of Siena Heights University for supporting the students decision to hold a production of "The Vagina Monologues". Sr. Peg Albert (President), Sr. Sharon Weber (VP), and Mark Schersten (Dean) supported and defended the decision of a group of students who sought to perform this controversial piece. In the face of pressure from a multitude of sources to prevent the production and accusations of abandonment of the universities Catholic identity, the administration held strong. On behalf of those who sign this petition, Thank You. You have demonstrated the truth in living the mission of Siena Heights University, "...to assist people to become more competent, purposeful, and ethical through a teaching and learning environment which respects the dignity of all."
