I hope something strongly positive and long-term, beyond all of this, impacts from our efforts for too long to support being first, listened to, accepted, safe, protected, acted on the needs of, and fought for always. Even once was too extremely against just doing the right thing. Alexandrea

I liked the statement, and did not see it as a conflict of interest, because I see a difference between American Mensa stating an opinion and the elected and appointed officers of American Mensa stating their shared opinion

Decency is not political.

If “racism is bad” is a political opinion, show me which party has “racism is good and we need more of it” as an official platform.

Racism is not so petty as to be merely a political opinion. Racism is unintelligent, anti-intelligent. It is ignorant to believe the human race is divisible along some arbitrary and shifting lines. Color - whether hair, eye, or skin - is on a continuum, not a separate race. Mensa stands for intelligence; thus AMC can and should make statements upholding intelligent and rejecting ignorance.

Thank you for taking the first step toward a better, safer, more inclusive Mensa!

George Floyd's death was not political. Racism is not political. Standing up for what's right is not political.
