SMUHSD 2021 AP Testing Schedule Needs to be Changed Now

The current plan undermines students needs and preferences, compromises their ability to move on with their lives past graduation.

AP exams should be given in-school, PAPER-AND-PENCIL format based on the original time table in May for a fair assessment.

I fully support, for our kids.

Requesting the District to please keep the best interest of our students in mind & reschedule the AP tests back to the original in-person paper tests in May. The FLAWS in the online Digital tests are endless and simply the fact that you CANNOT GO BACK to tackle a previous problem that you had skipped, or do a final review of all your answers before your submission, should in itself DISQUALIFY these Digital tests !

These decisions are bad for our students.

This kind of action by SMUHSDis a great example of how public education systems fail their students.

This has already been a difficult year for our high schoolers. Let's not add 2 more weeks to this. Juniors going into their Senior class will have a last opportunity to take their SAT in June. Let's give them some breathing room between AP finals and SAT. My daughter took online AP exam last year and the experience was subpar. Please reconsider to move AP exams in May and in-school. This schedule put our students at disadvantage situation. District should try paper and pencil in person test first and only digital as LAST resource as suggested by college board.

This schedule really puts our children at a disadvantage. School board needs to reconsider and adopt the schedule that allows AP exams in May.

Please reconsider this since it is not on the best interests of the students.

This is so wrong for these students. I thought we valued education. This clearly shows that we do not have the students in mind.

This schedule was not made with students in mind. The traditional May schedule works so much better for all students. Material is fresher in their minds and they are still in “school mode”. In addition, I second the comment on Calculus and Physics scheduled for the same day. I think you will find that there are dozens of students taking both these classes that are now scheduled for 6 hours of online testing in one day. That’s just too much for anyone.

My priority is to move the tests to the traditional timeframe, earlier.

Please revisit this schedule and allow students to take the test in May as planned. Pushing testing into June effectively extends the school year for our kids, scheduling an exam during "vacation time" is unfair since their minds will not be in school mode at all anymore. Making it a digital exam adds to the stress level - especially for families who, like us, have plans to be in a completely different time zone with a foreign IP address (remember: this is summer vacation time!), which significantly adds to the complexity.

My child have to take AP Calculus and AP Physics on the same day with only 30 minutes of break. It’s insane.

My child has taken AP test online last year and the experience was awful. If we can take regular test I would avoid the online test altogether. School is moving forward with a on site SAT test. Why can't we have it for AP tests too?

I would like district to re-visit this schedule and allow students to take in school paper and pencil exam. The online option is extremely stressful for students taking multiple science and math exams same day.

Please let our student to take in-person test. Students are already stressful under this pandemic. Please help them!

Please reconsider! This schedule is allows for AP tests that are both MORE STRESSFUL and MORE DIFFICULT for our students than standard in-person, paper-and-pencil tests. Please make the right choice!
