This is a human dignity issue and it allows Georgetown to express its commitment to Catholic, Jesuit values.

This is an issue of equity and social responsibility which should be adopted by the university. I support the petition.

An urgent and vital policy, in fact a moral obligation.

Establishing a unified policy treating TL and TFNTL faculty the same for parental leave issues would allow Georgetown to be a leader on this topic and would reduce greatly some of the stress involved in becoming or being a parent, esp. for the first time.

This is another way we can be a role model for students, as we hope they will enter future workplaces with such support for a work/life balance.

Taking a semester with my first born absolutely was a key factor in work/life balance and strengthened my loyalty to GU. FTNTL faculty also deserve this for their family.

I strongly support this petition. The research shows that early interactions and connections are foundational. Promoting designated time for parent-child bonding is an investment, not only in our colleagues' and their families' well-being, but our society as a whole.
