Another young protester has been executed in the city of Mashhad, Iran.

Apart from many executions of Baluchi and Kurd minorities in sham trials, this is the second execution in one of the big cities in Iran.

His name was MajidReza Rahnavard. His crime: Muharebeh. Translation: Enemy of God.

This might sound strange to you. But it is one of the terms that a judge can assign to a person and it is punishable by death based on Sharia law.

The court system in Iran is based on Sharia law- There is no concept of trial by jury under Sharia law).

+ MajidReza did not have an attorney to represent him.

+ He was not given time to submit an appeal.

+ He had obvious signs of torture on his face and body.

There is no due process in Sharia law courts of Iran. I know this sounds surreal to many non-Iranians, but this is “The Moment that Iranians Need YOUR Voice”.

Here is an action item:

1. Issue a public statement condemning the death sentences given by sham courts of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

2. Ask them to make a choice to be the voice of political prisoners in Iran. Based on published reports by the state media in Iran, there are more than 18,000 prisoners at this moment. Several German politicians have decided to become the “political sponsor” of imprisoned individuals in imminent danger of execution. We urge you to do the same. Be their voice. Pressure the Islamic Republic to stop issuing death penalties immediately. Ask international journalists to do investigative reports on tortures and sham trials. Pressure the Islamic Republic of Iran to provide healthcare to each and every prisoner.

3. Contact the United Nations human Rights Council. Ask them to identify all individuals in Iran who orchestrate sham trials, perform the executions, torture prisoners, imprisons youth under 18 years old, lead, plan, and perform televised forced confessions and report their findings as soon as possible.

4. Sanction individuals in Iran who lead, plan, and perform sham trials, perform the executions, torture prisoners, imprison the youth under 18 years old, as well as those who lead, plan, and perform televised forced confessions.
