I am in support of this petition. And we can't lose the east tennis court at Farnsworth Park. This is 50% of the courts that are used regularly and many times at full capacity with players waiting for 60 minutes or more.
Let's build a dedicated "Pickleball only" court for our spirited and passionate Pickleball community. Don't rob the tennis players of their court.

These tennis courts have always served as an essential refuge to escape the stress of daily life and recreate, and are especially important in this current day and age of COVID. There are a great number of tennis players that live in the vicinity that rely on these courts, and often times there are extended wait times due to its popularity. Thus it’s absolutely necessary to keep these courts as such and build more courts to accommodate for the sheer demand. Thank you.

Tennis is quickly becoming the most popular recreational sport amongst all my friends, family and the community at large. And the wait times to get on the courts clearly reflect that. There simply aren’t enough public courts in LA to accommodate this “new normal”.

We need more opportunities to come together across the racial barriers and play tennis in a county park that allows for plenty of people to enjoy the sport. Tennis opportunities fight the childhood obesity epidemic. Loma Alta Park has plenty of unused space to accommodate more tennis players.
