In keeping with and in respect to the following:    Constitution of The United States  Bill of Rights ARTICLE [II]

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

ARTICLE [X]

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

&

Constitution Of The State Of Tennessee

ARTICLE I. Declaration of Rights.    Section 26.  That the citizens of this state have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defense; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime.

The following citizens of the Great State of Tennessee do hereby petition our legislators, duly elected as their representatives to The Tennessee General Assembly, to take action against recent federal government activity to restrict our rights to keep and bear arms.

Although, these rights are enumerated in the above references we feel it is important for The Great State of Tennessee to take the lead in defeating moves to undermine them.

We encourage our legislators to address this issue immediately as time is of the essence.

It is our desire to enact legislation in the form of The Tennessee Firearms Protection Act, or some similar vehicle, to preserve our rights to keep and bear arms without federally mandated restrictions or limitations.

This includes, but is not limited to, burdensome administrative requirements, excessive taxation/fees on firearms or ammuntion, and restrictions against the sale or ownership of specific firearms and their associated components (i.e. high capacity magazines).

Respectfully submitted by the following citizens of the Great State of Tennessee.

Keep the govt out of our business. Shall not be infringed means exactly that. Glad someone is finally standing up for our rights here in TN.
