Please fix our fields before any of us get hurt. I am a soccer player that has been playing on these fields since I was 7 years old. As I have been playing there the fields have progressivley gotten worse. My dream is to play for college and with these fields, my chances of that are very slim due to common injuries.

I have coached youth sports and seen the value of having a good place for these kids to play.

These fields have to be fixed and kept up before our kids get seriously hurt. Some of our athletes have great potential to become college recruits, but all it takes is one serious injury as a result of these unsafe fields to take that away. We can't let our youth down so we must do what we can to make our fields safe.

My grandson has been playing soccer at this park for 10 years. The safety of our children should come first and these fields need to be repaired!

My son has been playing soccer at Ed Austin for 10 years. This is the worst conditions I've seen of our fields. Safety MUST be addressed and these fields must be repaired.

Safety should always come first. Our fields are horrible in comparison to the others we play on. Please make our fields safe!

The soccer fields at Ed Austin Regional Park have been neglected and have fallen into such disrepair as they have become unsafe for soccer players and the general public at large

This is a very important part of our community and needs to be maintained. There are very few active parks in this area and soccer plays an important role in many kids lives. Please maintain these fields and keep them open.

For decades Arlington paid for amenities to be built in other, newer, neighborhoods. Now it's time for the city to rally around Arlington! Let's make this beautiful central area of Jacksonville the great place to live, work and play it once was! Arlington matters!

This park has so much potential as the writer of this petition brings to light. It just needs to be better maintained. My family has been utilizing this park for recreation and soccer for several years and it is quite evident that the conditions have deteriorated significantly as of late. Please help us bring this park back up to a standard that we can all be proud of and feel safe to allow our children to play at.

3 year coach, and 6 year parent of children playing soccer with AFC. The field conditions are unacceptable, and the cheap, and pathetic attempts of late to repair the fields are disgraceful. The "fill dirt" must have been scraped from a demolition site, as it is riddled with large, sharp chunks of jagged broken concrete block and other rocks and pebbles (I kept a sample I'd be happy to provide). THIS IS MY LOCAL GOVERNMENT'S SOLUTION TO PROTECT MY CHILDREN FROM TWISTING AN ANKLE? The fields need to be leveled and re-sodded. In order to accomplish this, we must have the support from proper authorities to CLOSE and LOCK the fields during the off season. If not, other recreational users of the park will negate the attempted improvements... which are in their own best long-term interests. Now that elections are over, maybe you'll have the fortitude not to succumb to whining about the - TEMPORARY - park closure. I trust you'll make the right choice for the good of the community in Arlington. If not, then it's obvious you do not truly represent us. Thanks.

I have seen too many holes on the fields, rocks and dog excrement. Not a safe environment for children to be playing.
