Tell the 2016 Republican National Convention’s Rules Committee to Unbind the Delegates!

If delegates vote their conscience & still pick Trump, that will make nominee much stronger.

This is our last chance to see America brought back to its former greatness. Please unbind the delegates!

Dear Committee Member: As you look to the rules that should govern the upcoming 2016 Republican Convention it is evident that no matter how the cloth is cut, the committee will likely face controversy and criticism. I personally see the convention’s function as that of bringing forth the most likely principled and supportable candidate which can capture a majority ‘will of the people’, regardless of their political persuasion or loyalties. Many may say it is just party politics, but you are actually assessing a possibility of who will capture a majority will of the people, both voting-wise and in the Electoral College. As a life-long Republican, a concerned citizen, and as an individual with a PhD in Constitutional Studies, I implore you to consider the following as you perform your duties and opportunities on the committee: When voters voted for the current presumptive nominee, would they have known going forward that this nominee would have at this point an alarming lack of election organization? That statements which would be made as the presumptive nominee that would alienate not only the Republican base, but also cross over voters, minorities, independents, etc? Did they know what they would think in mid-July about this candidate? Would their opinions or their vote change if they went to the polls now? If less than half of the Republican voters in the overall country count support a candidate, how does one assess the will of those who didn’t support that person? Please consider the following about the political landscape in this country: That the will of the ‘people’ represents a conglomerate of two parties plus independents, and that independents actually have a larger percentage than either of the two major political parties; thus a person getting under 50% of the vote of a constituency that represents just over 30% of the voters in the general election is hardly representative of what can prevail in a general election. Please allow delegates to vote their consciences so our nomination doesn't go to this truly unpresidential man. Trump is not fit for office of the President.

The most frightening thought is a Trump presidency for many reasons. 1Has shown little to no knowledge in domestic and foreign affairs 2 Has shown no desire to learn or comprehend the. constitution 3 Has lied many times 4 Admires dictators 5 Has said many things showing he is revengeful 6 He reacts poorly to criticism and displays he is very unstable 7 He has done questionable things in his business career, including Trump University. 8 Instead of discussing relevant issues during debates, he diverted to insulting and belittling others. When the race came down to 3 candidates, he refused to debate because he has no knowledge of the issues so important to our nations safety and existence. 9. His ego is so great that he will put himself first before the country. 10. He has baited Americans based on their fears, making promises which appeal without details. 11. His closest advisors are his children who are all registered Democrats 11 He in not qualified, either in knowledge or character to be our President.

You are our last chance to stop the madness that is DJT.

Our ultimate goal should be a nominee who can win. Despite the results in the primaries, Mr. Trump (largely through his failure to put forth a plan or viable campaign) has proven he is not up to that task

Delegates need to be free to vote their conscience... Not be forced to vote for someone they don't agree with.

Please help save this great nation by helping the delegates vote their conscience. We are praying without ceasing, that you be strengthened and do the morally correct thing....FREE THE DELEGATES....

The delegates are already unbound and can vote their conscience. A new rule supporting this would help. We can not twist their arms, forcing each to vote for someone they object to. However, if the free delegates choose trump: so be it. I still will never vote for him but he would then be the actual delegate backed nominee. I will change my party to libertarian and let you wallow in your trump.

The Republican Party cannot survive nominating a Democrat chosen by Democratic cross-over voters in primaries.

Please allow the delegates to vote their conscience. Also, it should be a prequisite that the nominee releases tax returns.

Unbind the delegates please.

As a former Republican Hill staffer and national security professional, I am shocked that this level of bigotry, demagoguery, and incitement of violence has reached the uppermost levels of a party that has long stood for individual freedom and the rule of law. I am also shocked that an accused rapist and fraudster is now the leader of the party, and that decent people are being asked to support and excuse him. Nominating this man, attempting to rally the country behind him, and making excuses for his behavior on the campaign trail, will be the end not only of this party but of this country - even before giving him the nuclear codes and control of the FBI. I hope the RNC delegates will make the right decision in this terrible hour. Thank you for reading.
