Do not change the ban on head coverings to appease a new member of congress. This is America, and she must abide by the rules, regulations and laws of our great country. The burka is a symbol of oppression and misogyny worldwide.

Her reasoning is based on a suppressive anti woman religious belief. It goes against our laws and allowing it would suggest her religion trumps our laws!

In addition; I would add if you cannot be sworn in on a bible to vow to support and uphold the Constitution then you cannot be seated. Omar is already declaring war against the United States Constitution!

Hold fast. Do not give place to Muslim jihad laws. We know if it was Christian or Jewish, the left would be up in arms

She ran, she wanted this position, now she needs to follow all rules and laws that have been in effect for almost 200 years. This is America, not a Muslim nation.

I think she should abide by the rules, and not have the rules change to abide the whims of one person.

Laws are for everyone, regardless of religion.

Why aren't Jews allowed to wear a head covering? If she can force the law to change, they it should change for all.

A law is a law. Why do we keep changing them to suit just one side ?
