We just opened our new studio last September - out of 10 months, we are quickly approaching being closed for 4 of those months. This makes it very difficult to believe the studio will be successful as we believed pre-shutdown. Our studio can have a maximum of 7 people - including instructors. We have a front door at the front of the studio and a back door at the back of the studio - clients can come and go without physically passing each other. We can also schedule our classes to Allow ample time to sanitize equipment and clients leave before new clients arrive. Please reclassify small studios into a different category than gyms and large workout facilities.

Gov Walz:
Please do the right thing. The extended restrictions are hurting our small businesses and residents health at the same time. This Pilates studio is similar to a spa or salon.
Covid 19 impacts people with weakened immune systems and elderly people.
We must get back to normal like the republic states. You are continuing to devastate our state’s economy.

Please expedite a safe plan for re-opening fitness centers. We need them for our physical and mental health. We also need owners to maintain their livelihood. Wisconsin has figured it out!

Immune health hasn't been addressed much during this, and the gyms will be even safer than normal, to help get peoples health back to normal.

Please consider the thoughtful and cogent analysis of allowing boutique fitness studios to reopen on June 1st. They are not in the same category as larger fitness centers and should be given the opportunity to resume their services.

I think small fitness boutiques should not be considered in the same category as 200,00 ft health clubs.
They are smaller & more personalized allowing them to better adapt to the appropriate health guidelines needed to operate safely.

Stop controlling with rules that benefit some and not others. You are more likely to get infected at a big box store which are allowed to be open. It doesn’t make sense!

Please allow Pilates MN studio to open on June 1. This not like usual gym. They take full care of members who routinely go there for Pilates.

Small fitness business owners and their clients will be able to control/implement social distancing recommendations and masking/cleaning procedures. They should not be included as a part of the restrictions on large gyms opening.

Look at the businesses as individual decisions!

A decision that lacks both data and common sense, is ludicrous. These small businesses should re-open - and arguably should have been open ahead of many others.

I am a 1:1 trainer that also is a manual therapist. I work with Postural Fitness which uses body weight, resistance bands. I use gentle exercises to retrain the muscles to keep my clients out of pain.

Pilates and yoga studios have demonstrated low virus incidence in contrast to other sports facilities with high-intensity fitness classes. At Pilates, members are more relaxed, breathe gently, do not sweat and thus, they have less chances of spreading the virus. These studios have long-established protocols to keep the place safe and clean.
From sciencenews.org: “Curiously, one infected instructor taught Pilates and yoga classes of about eight people, but none of those students tested positive for the virus. Those classes’ lower aerobic intensity may be why the virus didn’t spread as easily, the researchers speculate. Class size may also be a factor”.
