Please rescind this statement, which does not reflect the values that many of the faculty, staff, students and alumni hold.

Erskine has always had a stance based on Biblical text, but has never felt it necessary to create, and widely and deliberately publish, a new one which seems reactionary and suggests punitve action could ensue. When I was there, Erskine embraced the teachings of Jesus. I'd like to see her return to that.

As a graduate (2009) and donor to Erskine College, I implore you to rescind this statement. It is clear that the sentiments of the administration and "Trustees' does not reflect those of student body. Restore Erskine to the institution I was proud of an loved.

This is not the school from which I graduated. Erskine has had openly homosexual students from at least the 1960's - when my Mom was there. My time at Erskine in the 1990's was my first large scale exposure to homosexuality. I learned that we are all people valued for who we are and are not labels. I am proud that I am able to teach that same lesson to my own child now. Erskine, you must remain a place where open discussion and acceptance exists in order to carry on. Don't destroy the place I love so VERY much!
