As a resident and student I want fair representation of my community.

Hey Mr. Clavin: for years you and your one-party system have hidden behind “majority rules” governance. We are here to ask you to step out into the light, and recognize that 47% of Hempstead Town’s population is, in fact, a majority waiting for equal opportunity and treatment (under the US Constitution) and by redrawing our Council Districts as “we the people” need, know and want. You are so good at enjoying the supervisor spotlight - just imagine how much more attention and congratulations you’d receive nation-wide if you do the long-overdue “right thing” for ALL of our Hempstead Town residents.

For our children and grandchildren, let’s show them we can work together from both sides of the political aisle and end one party control of TOH. These maps are a new example of an illegal attempt at a “land grab” that would move profitable commercial properties into the redrawn districts. Similar to what was done to Long Island’s original indigenous inhabitants. And, of course, these gerrymandered maps will deprive people of their right to elect public officials who will work for them to get their fair share of the political pie. For us and our future voters: our children!

Don, you are the worst of the worst. You only care about your political ambitions and fighting for people who have your skin collar and have money.

Our local government must reflect the local population. We were all raised to be fair and just. Let’s govern that way.

Don Clavin's redistricting process has been a sham. No posts on social media, no mailings. Information about redistricting wasn't put on the event calendar until residents complained. The only time an email dedicated to redistricting was sent is when one of the meetings was rescheduled. Essentially Don Clavin DID NOT want residents to know about this process.

This redistricting plan in not at all reflective of the communities which make up our beautiful mosaic county. Sadly it is designed to prevent peoples of color to have proportional representation in our town government. If necessary a court battle will ensue for Justice and equal representation

Gerrymandering is racist discriminatory practice for power grabbing and diminishing minority equality and rights in their communities.

The whole idea of voting is for voters to decide. Gerrymandering stops that. It’s unethical and unAmerican. It makes us a third world country.

Racism has no home here. Do the right thing and create 3 majority/minority districts

This is unconditional and totally lacks fairness. A out and out GOP power grab with long term ramifications.

Adhere to the Voting Rights Act / John Lewis Voting Act in NY....otherwise see you in Court.. Do not break up communities or disenfranchise majority minority populations...
