The women's game faces a constant battle to gain media coverage and television air-time. While the Westfield W-League receives support from ABC TV in televising one live game per week in the regular season fixture, the fact that there will be no live coverage of the semi-finals matches is a farce. Only with consistent coverage, particularly of these showcase matches, will the profile of the women's game continue to lift. This increased exposure will transfer into increased attendances, participation, sponsorship and the like. 

We are pushing for women's football to be a constant part of the mainstream football media, not just an inclusion as an afterthought. While these things take time, we firmly believe that with enough support, it will be possible to make a real difference to the television and general coverage of women's football.
