I agree with reasons 1 to 6 but trustees should have the ability to have in person 341 at their discretion.
It will reduce instances of attorneys hiring 'appearance' counsel.

Michigan Bar #P13746. Telephonic 341 hearings have worked well for all concerned. Some of my clients live 2 3/4 hours drive from the Courthouse so it is a great savings for them!

We will need to have these hearings via telephone in the future so why put off for tomorrow that which can be done today. It makes sense period!

I believe that virtual 341 hearings, either by telephone or by Zoom, are definitely a benefit to our clients and to our law firms. We have successfully held virtual 341 hearings for more than a year. There have been a few glitches, but with a bit of standardization, I believe we can permanently bring the future to the present.-Vincent E. Carlson, P71675 Michigan

In my experience, telephonic 341 meetings have been efficient and have made the process much easier for clients who may be required to take time off from work to attend as well incur travel costs to attend in person.

It is over a 2 hour drive each way for clients to attend some of their 341 hearings. This causes a financial hardship to clients who are already in financial distress. They must lose a day from work and suffer travel expenses.

In the District of Arizona, 341 Meetings held telephonically or by Zoom have been working very well for Debtors and attorneys alike. Many Debtors is rural areas especially previously would have 1-3 hour drives to attend Meetings in person. Telephonic hearings reduce costs and improve access for all involved... Debtors, attorneys, Trustees, and Creditors.

I have clients driving more than 200 miles to make these meetings. My interstate truck driver clients have problems making it to town. Telephonic hearings are far easier on everyone.

My clients with health problems are especially grateful to not fight parking and walking in downtown locations.
