Background (Preamble): Kids and Young Adults have been excluded from the choices the government is making for them. An example is that the Indiana Department of Education has outlawed half days to Indiana schools. The teens of Indiana schools want to address this issue because we were not asked if we wanted this. One student said: As a student, I work very hard during the school year. Half days haven't created a problem in the past and I believe it's unfair to take away the few school days of the year that give students a break from a stressful atmosphere ~Anonymous They took them without asking any of us. Our government is supposed to be by the people, for the people, and of the people. Right now, teens have no control of what the government is doing for them.This petition is not about getting out half days back. It's about getting our rights as an American citizen back. Petition: We ask that the state let teens help make decisions that affect them. And we want our half days back!
