How many atrocities need to stack up before a spineless congress will act to stop this madness?

Immigrants are legally allowed to seek asylum in the United States. Tear-gassing toddlers in diapers is shamefully inhumane and unAmerican.

After giving thanks for all the blessings we've been given and in the midst of the holiday season, it is an immoral disgrace to treat the least fortunate as the US Border Patrol has. We are the nation who welcomes the tired, the poor, the huddled masses. Remember we strive to become beacons of home, not of disgrace.

WE ARE THE CAUSE of this caravan in the first place. Our insistence upon installing fascist toadies into power and overthrowing governments DID THIS to them. They are our Geopolitical Karma coming back upon us. What do we do? We further abuse them and DENY RESPONSIBILITY.

Trump has no respect for human lives or the sovereignty of Mexico. He has ordered our troops to disregard the laws of our country and the concept of compassion and human decency, neither of which he is obviously familiar with or acknowledges that he's subject to. He's a wannabe king/dictator with the intellectual capacity of the village idiot, being followed by a cadre of like-minded imbeciles

This outrageous violation of sovereign national rights and an affront to humanity must be halted now! The tRump administration must be held accountable.

Who appreciates their citizenship more, people born in this country through no effort of their own or those who risk their lives to escape economic despair and/or physical threats, having traveled hundreds of miles under often brutal conditions? Who appreciates the Constitution more, those who barely paid attention in their American Government class or those who had to learn it deeply to pass their citizenship test? Who appreciates the Statue of Liberty (aka The Mother of Exiles) more, those who see it as a tourist destination or those who see it as a true beacon of hope?
How can we, a moral nation—much less a supposedly Christian one—view people seeking asylum without some compassion, without some—to turn a word—allowance?
And what would this allowance cost us? Economically? For the vast majority of us—nothing. Will there be costs to process asylum seekers? Sure, but all credible studies show that immigration is a major contributor to economic growth (especially considering the United States’ almost flat birth rate) and that immigrants pay far more in taxes than they receive in benefits
Will this allowance cost us our safety? Though salacious reporting often focuses on outlier cases of immigrant crime, all credible studies show that immigrants are less likely to commit violent crimes than home-grown Americans.

It's high-time that the U.S. follows U.N. standards when it comes to asylum seekers. It's time for the U.S. to represent the decency and humane laws of justice that exists beyond borders and nation-states. The natural rights of all humans should be respected, as should be expected given that we hum the Golden Rule to ourselves for millennia.
