Something has to be done. I’ve been late countless times from circling the parking lot because guests are parked in the commuter lots before the visitor lot is full or residential students are parking in commuter only spots. At the very least improper decal ticketing should be monitored more closely. Commuters don’t have a dorm to come from, we need our parking spaces.

The parking situation for commuting students at TCNJ is less than ideal, particularly due to the large population of commuter students and the stressful parking situation. Additional parking would alleviate the traffic build up near college town along with decreasing the stress and dangers of hectic commuter parking. As a stressed commuter student nearly getting hit by another stressed commuter behind the wheel, frantically searching for a spot, is a clear, and unfortunately common, example of the limited parking epidemic!

I live on campus and when I leave to go to my field experience and come back in the middle of the day there is never parking.

Yesterday I had to park in a lot I wasn’t supposed to in order to make it to class, I was still 10 minutes late because of the distance

As a commuter, I have to take considerably extra time in my drive not to get to TCNJ, but to find a place to park once I arrive. Granted, TCNJ does not have as bad of a parking issue as other schools. It is still an issue when you expect to be on time or early but are now late just dude to the lack of available parking.

I fully agree. The amount of cars in the parking lots is astronomical and leaves students no choice but to park in other places, often not reserved for them. On Tuesday, when I arrived in school, every single spot for commuter students was full and many students were parking wherever they could find any space. Another parking lot would greatly help the students at TCNJ, commuter and non commuter.

if you are presenting this to the school, pretty sure you’d need to give them an idea on where to add another parking lot, approx. how much money that would be (a lot of money), and if you’d have to cut down the woods to make this parking lot

As a commuter I have first hand experience on this issue. We are forced to only a few lots and have to pay to park there. However a spot is not guaranteed. Nobody should have to be over an hour early to class just to get a parking space.
