In our school system ther is a program referred to as the A.L.C. .And many of the parents and citizens of our County are not even aware of it's existence. However for those of us with children who have been placed in this environment we are very much aware of the confinement, isolation, mistreatment, and humiliation this places onour children. If your child has any form of learning, emotional, or behavioral disability the school administrator's deem your child unworthy of a fair, equal, or quality education and placement of a child in this type of environment discriminates against there right to a proper education. Reducing there school day to less than two hours a day. Some members of the Board of Education feel they are able to achieve a proper education to these children. However they are not only deprived instruction but are not able to develop any type of socail skills with there peers. These children get lost in the system and are unable to main stream back into regular classrooms because of the lack of education and understanding. These children are unsure of what is required of them to be successful in a regular school setting and in society. We ask that you sign this in hoes of abolishing the A.L.C. program and stop the isolation and mistreatment of our children because of there differences.
