I am writing a petition to fix a problem that 50% of the nation’s population faces; the taxation on tampons and pads. Having your period is not convenient and isn’t a preference. In fact, it is the complete opposite. It is obscene that some men think that using a tampon or pad is categorised as ‘luxury’. It is unhygienic to not use a tampon or pad, and we are not only doing this for ourselves but for those around us. Since 2000, the Australian Government has taxed every menstruating Australian woman 10%, every time we get our period. The tampon and pad tax is basically a tax on being a woman. This is not only expensive but very misogynistic.

I'd like to see the men in parliament have a period, even though they already act like there PMSing all day long
about time. my wife spends way too much on this stuff every month and its not like she has a choice in the matter
its insane that we still pay extra just for having a uterus. period products are basic health needs not fancy extras.
This is ridiculous! Having my insides shed out of my hoo-hah isn't any kind of luxury!
it's very much like health insurance, we need them to survive unless you want all women to go into hibernation once a month.
Ridiculous!!!!
