The university has officially confirmed our transition to the Southeastern Conference. We are now shifting our focus toward monitoring the implementation of this move to ensure the terms align with our long-term interests.
TO: THOSE ATTENDING THE TEXAS HIGHER EDUCATION HEARING FROM: FORMER STUDENTS, CURRENT STUDENTS, AND FANS OF TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY
SUBJECT: PETITION TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR CHANGING CONFERENCE AFFILIATION
By signing this petition, we hereby show our support for Texas A&M University changing its athletic conference affiliation from the Big XII Conference. To many, this decision was not reached lightly. However, remaining in the Big XII conference is not in the best interest for Texas A&M University. First and foremost, due to unequal revenue sharing, it appears that stability is something that the Big XII will never again be able to offer. Secondly, the contract between ESPN and the University of Texas regarding the Longhorn Network is a brazen display of arrogance and selfishness by those two entities. In short, the Longhorn Network contract displays the intent of both ESPN and the University of Texas to use the Big XII conference until a solid foundation has been built for the University of Texas to go independent. Therefore, Texas A&M must seek solid ground to ensure that our University continues to strive for excellence for years to come.
The volume of support has reached a level that commands attention at the administrative level. I am finalizing the formal briefing materials to be delivered to the university regents during the upcoming oversight process.

The longhorn network has been a joke since day one. Move to the SEC and lets get some real respect for our program.

Make the move. The current situation is unfair and everyone knows it. Ready for a new conference.
