Science shall always be independent, so the government shall not intervene either through legislation or reallocating the budget. I stand with science and freedom.

Science serves society, and it does so best when it is independent from political pressure.

I have benefited greatly from my stay at the Research Institute of Linguistics, Hungarian Academy of Sciences. I quite agree to the statement made by the Members of the Stadium 28 Alliance. Autonomy to the Hungarian Academy of Sciences!

As a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and foreign member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and of five further academies I find the proposed new regulation deviant from internatioanl practice and dangerous for the freedom of science.

Kétségtelen, hogy az MTA működése reformra szorul. Azonban a legrosszabb, ami történhet vele, hogy ez a reform íorbán önkényuralmi rendszerének keretei között fog megtörténni.
The working of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences needs to be reformed without any doubt. Nevertheless, the worst thing that can happen to it to be reformed in frames of Orbán's authoritarian regime.
