Request for a Special GBM of TAMA members
Dear President of TAMA, As you have been aware, members of TAMA were kept in dark, from January 31, 2009 to October 1, 2009 regarding the voting rights of annual members. Though you agreed, on Sunday, September 27th, during a compromise meeting, to allow the annual members to vote, your Executive Committee failed to inform the members/past members/potential members before September 30th, cut-off date for membership. This is a serious matter which has jeopardized rights of past and potential members. As the President, You were not able to address the mistake caused by inaction. We request you to hold a Special GBM to discuss the matter and postpone the membership cut-off date and elections. As per the TAMA bylaws, under article 4 - 1.General Body: The General Body shall determine the basic philosophy and policies of TAMA. It is empowered to elect, remove and impeach TAMA officers (except as provided in Article VI), amend bylaws, and revoke memberships. Membership: General Body shall consist of all TAMA members in good standing, as defined in Article III. Meetings: There shall be at least one general body meeting in each calendar year to elect the new officers. The president shall call a general body meeting if 10% or more of the members of the Association sign a petition requesting such a meeting. ( www.tama.org) Regards, Members of TAMA 2009
