Darnell-Cookman middle/high school prides itself on spectular displays of academic excellence, cultural and ethnic diversity, and the unique, brilliant students that call the school home. This is a remarkable school with well earned accomplishments as an A-rated and a top scoring powerhouse of the district full of Viking pride and students of outstanding caliber, that has grown into its eminence and continues to grow. Ms. Talley, the current and hopefully future assistant principle, has bore witness as class after class of young adults have grown into their potential, and she more than anyone deserves her place here in the Darnell-Cookman. More than a school, we are a family, and to remove Ms. Talley from this school would be to remove the matriarch. She is a fundamental, and beloved member that has gone above and beyond her superb work at the school and made a true connection with every class that makes it way through the school. This disruption of school function does not stand well with the students, we who feel the deep connection with, and need for Ms. Talley. She is more than an administrator, she is an inspiring role model as a strong woman of color to a minority school with everything to prove to the world, and themselves. Please sign this petition to keep Ms. Talley at Darnell-Cookman, she is far too important to leave. She is our Rock.
