The ONLY funding that the Tallaght Youth Band receives each year has been cut in half. We are responsible for keeping many children off the streets, 100's down through the years, therefore saving the Government thousands and we are not prepared to sit by and do nothing. We work very hard fundraising as it is to keep the band running and feel we should be entitled to a bit of help. We feel that together we can stand stronger and hopefully bring about a positive outcome, we are also aware that cuts are being made across a wide range of areas in this current environment but we feel strongly that our cause is very deserving, as you are all aware our members learn much more than music, marching and dancing they also learn the spirit of Team work, Responsibility and Discipline all of which helps them become fantastic young adults, not forgeting the great friendships they form as well as the social aspect of Band. Our members are a credit to Tallaght and surely they deserve some funding???
