We, the undersigned citizens of Talent urge the Mayor and City Council to continue appealing the Jackson County staff's tentative approval of Mountain View Paving's current operation on land in the urban growth boundary of Talent, Oregon. We believe that this industrial business is wrongly located on residentially-zoned land, and that its presence where it is compromises Talent residents' health and property rights, lowers our property values, and makes Talent less appealing to the kinds of businesses that we want in Talent. Any deal with Mountain View Paving that does not include its relocation to a safe, industrially-zoned area as soon as practical must be declined.
Reaching this level of support has been a long and draining process but your persistence gives me the energy to keep pushing forward. I am exhausted by the constant uphill battle against these city policies yet I know our demand for a safe environment remains the right one.

This is ridiculous. Why would you put an asphalt plant right next to homes?? Ruins our air quality and property values for everyone in town.
