I was horrified to learn this still exists in New Zealand. It us completely out of step with the spirit of our recent legislative changes and progress.

Sexual orientation is not something that can be changed, and to try and do so through conversion therapy can cause serious psychological harm.

Conversion therapy causes irreparable harm, and can even result in suicide (note the incredibly sad case of Leela Alcorn in Ohio, USA). There is no place in society for such a cruel and unfounded practice. Please abolish this in New Zealand for the health and safety of all the incredible gay and transgender individuals who life there!

This is most certainly an issue that should've been brought up a long time ago. New Zealand is supposed to be a progressive country- let's show it.

This 'therapy' has been discredited for decades. The damage it does is well documented. Churches should stop their commitment to snake oil projects.
