Set Appropriate Minimum Bail Amounts for Domestic Violence Offenders in Connecticut
On average, more than three women are murdered by their husbands or partners in this country every day.
This is a perfect example of why we are proposing that Connecticut enact a law that states that any person who is charged with acts of Domestic Violence should be penalized with a bail amount no less than $20,000 in order to deter these occurrences.

Total failure by the court. My heart breaks for her family. Needs to be a mandatory floor for these bail amounts.
$1000?? Are you kidding me? That is basically giving them the green light to go back and finish the job. fix this immediately.
So sad. Justice for her means changing the rules for everyone else. Never again.
Ridiculous. Domestic abusers need to stay behind bars longer so their victims have a chance to get away. System is broken.
Keep them locked up and away from the victims. We have to stop letting these guys out so cheap.

The judge who lowered that bail should be held accountable. A thousand dollars is nothing for a life. This is absolutely tragic and preventable.
