My five year old saw a purple piñata and asked if she could have it. It looked cute enough until I read the content label. This is a request for all large chain stores (Target, Walmart, etc) to remove “cute” children’s games that promote violence off their shelves. Fortnite’s Llama Loot Pinata has an obscene list of assault rifles as part of the “loot” filling the cardboard Pinata. This toy is deceiving and although it is part of teen game, this item is marketed in the Children’s Toy Section. The promotion of violence is already severely prevalent in these children’s lives and they do not need any more of these items on the toy shelves.

I logged on this morning and just stared at the screen because I honestly did not think this would gain any traction at all. It feels like people everywhere are realizing that putting these weapons in the toy aisle is just wrong and I am still trying to process how quickly this has taken off. My kid keeps asking why I am crying while reading these comments but it is just overwhelming to see so many of you feeling this exact same frustration.

Guns are not children’s toys! After all the school mass shootings the thought of placing tit guns in a beloved piñata is careless and wrong.
It is devastating to learn that children are encouraged to see atrocious weapons as toys. The manufacturer should be ashamed as should any store that chooses to carry this product!!
Our children have enough violence in their lives without making it pretty and pink. Come on Target, do better.
Target and all other retailers, this is totally unacceptable. When children are being forced to learn how to protect themselves in the horror of active shooter drills, the act of commodifying and selling toys to them that replicate weapons of mass death inside a cute pinata is disgusting, immoral, and an act of capitalistic violence.
Attention target!!! Why would you put a fortnight weaponized toy on your shelves???
Nothing makes a children's party festive like assault weapons {sarcasm)!
