Public transportation has been around for hundreds of years to take people from one place to another. It evolved from water services such as boats and ships to automobiles such as buses and trolleys that carry a lot of people. Public transportation can be very important in fighting global warming. Taking public transportation reduces a lot of co2 emissions in the air. Co2 heats the world temperature and it melts the polar ice caps. When the ice caps melt, the sea level rises. The major reason to prevent this is taking public transportation because it is less co2 emission in the air. Every gallon of gas you burn emits 19 pounds of c02 into the air. On average, people use a total of 1/2 a gallon of gas per day. There are about 7 billion people in the world. If there was no public transportation, and those 7 billion people drove a vehicle everyday, that would be a total of 3.5 billion pounds of co2 in the air per day. And besides, its not boring to take public transportation. While taking public transportation:
1. You are free to do other things. You can read a book, go on your phone, or sleep because your hands and feet are not occupied.
2. You save money because you do not need to pay for gas or insurance because you do not own the vehicle
3.You could also meet other people on the bus. You can talk to the person sitting next to you. You will never be alone.16 Comments
