If 2 factor identification would work properly all the time, i would not mind the small amount of extra effort for the added security. At this time, the system almost never works properly, and makes it nearly impossible to log in anywhere but my dorm. This causes me a large amount of trouble, and I believe that until the system is perfected it should be removed.

It's absolutely ridiculous. What if my phone gets lost or is stolen or the battery is dead?

If my phone dies or I forget it I will not be able to log into canvas or scholar so I won't be able to do work or submit assignments.

Though I understand the University's interest in increasing online security, this method is completely inconvenient. I often do not have my cell phone on my when I'm trying to log-in to VT resources & it seems that I'm having to do this daily if not more. I'm also studying abroad in the fall and I'm concerned that I would have limited access to my phone during that time too.

This was a completely boneheaded idea by the school. It is nothing more than inconvenient.

It's annoying. It should be optional given that my password and laptop is secure. There is no reason to assume someone will hack my school account.

Its not that two factor verification is bad, its just that it doesnt save the device so i have to do it every time. I don't always have my phone on me or its dead.

I don't want to have my phone on me all the time just to access my classes. Plus, half the time it's dead and then I'd be locked out.

I don't have access to text messaging as a student currently studying abroad. Not being able to log into my account for a semester isn't an option.

Please take down 2-factor authentication. I don't like it!! It's even harder when I try to log in from my phone.
