Seems very inconvenient. When students log in, they want to do it fast so they can get started on their assignments. If anything, this should be OPTIONAL and not required.

If my phone dies I can't sign into scholar. It's actually pretty dumb.

This fosters disparities between students that have smart phones and those that do not. Calling is not a feasible form of authentication in many social situations or during class, making this system completely ethically irresponsible and morally reprehensible. People should really *think* before instituting policy such as this one.

I am a very forgetful person. I regularly misplace my phone, forget it at home or let it die. It's a pain that I can't access my school and coursework if I don't have access to my phone and also distracting to instructors when student pull out their phones in lectures to unlock scholar/canvas to get the lecture slides. I thought cellphone policy for class was not to distract with them and that's all Duo seems to be doing. I don't feel that my information is anymore safe to being with since almost everyone had their information leaked a year or so back that was enrolled with a tech email.

I may not have phone with me, i dont alwz take phone or keep it charged so why should i depend on phone to be logged in scholar or vt site!!its annoying!

These feature is unnecessary for many of the applications that the Central Authentication Service protects. It should be confined to the few sites it is needed for.
