National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Bergen/Passaic Chapter request your support by signing this petition to request that our state legislative representatives approve proposed Assembly Bill 3363 expeditiously. The proposed Bill seeks to establish and implement the Children’s Health Promotion Fund, designed to ensure the expansion of programs that provide comprehensive direction to;

• Improve access to, and encourage the consumption of healthy, safe, and affordable foods and beverages to low income children
• Provide education to the same communities on the importance of proper diet and physical activity to prevent childhood obesity
• Raise public awareness about educational and public health approaches that promote sound nutritional choices and healthy lifestyles.

NCBW, Bergen/Passaic is a strong advocate to reduce the health disparities in communities affected by lack of knowledge and access to healthy nutritional alternatives. Our concern here is that unhealthy nutrition and lifestyles in children can lead to obesity-related issues in adults such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, arthritis, and obesity related cancer.
