Major projects need a clear pure-approvals process, including appeals of necessary, that provides certainty of outcomes for all stakeholders.
The government itself will increasingly find this is necessary for its own projects, as NIMBYs challenge anything that might affect them or their sensibilities. A functioning democracy needs to hear all voices, not just the few who orchestrate vociferous anti development campaigns, and then make decisions.

It's disappointing to see the environmental movement blatantly manipulate the law to progress philosophical ends when the animals in question are clearly protected by the practices outlined in the EIS. A hypocritical stance by a body based hundreds of km away !

This project is a necessity.I am a very experienced maintenance manger who is not in that role because of obstructions from environmental lobby groups.Name the conditions and put them in place and enforce them .The country needs an economy boost and that comes by not being political.

Our region needs these projects. This country needs to restore some balance to the approval process and get these projects rolling. It doesn't help matters when our taxes are used to subsidise obstructionist behaviours and the ATO allows tax concessions for environmental lobby groups. These organizations at present are a luxury this economy can no longer afford to fund or placate.

Stop the rot,stop the lies, if we don't supply the coal, someone else will. Sack the incompetent sods who allowed this to happen. It's about time someone was held responsible for their incompetence and or deliberate actions or both!

This area, as is the country, is in real trouble at present and this mine would provide some much needed employment for this area as well as some positive vibes.
