Mining projects should go through a proper process which provides certainty for all parties that creates a sustainable environment. Australia and Queensland have strict criteria for projects and enables objections throughout process - which should mean that activists do not have a role to play outside of this proper process and if there are objections, there needs to be real impacts and substance behind them. Governments need to follow the agreed process and policy and support resources on this basis given they are one of the biggest contributors to GDP

I am strongly against the green activists and their tactics they use to block/hold-up new UNDERGROUND coal mines and the industries that are supported by these ventures. I do have concerns about open cut mines raping the fertile surface environment that is used for grazing cattle and growing fruit & vegetables. All new coal mines in these areas must be made to go underground. Our farmers & graziers, and the products they produce are far too precious for Australia to lose.

Open Cuts = NO WAY !

The political hysteria on man-made climate change and barrier reef damage that is driving these activists to oppose resource development projects and indeed coal mining in total is far from an exact, proven science. The output from models on climate change has been proven inaccurate time and time again, indicating a fundamental flaw in the base assumptions, i.e. the influence of man-made carbon emissions. Until such time that scientific evidence backed by real, unaltered empirical data that proves man's significant influence on climate change can be tendered, this superfluous court action by anti-coal activists needs to be curtailed in order to save jobs and maintain the strong, robust resources industry that all Queenslanders, and indeed Australians, rely upon.

These activists with comfortable western lifestyles want to deny developing nations a clean and healthy energy source. Indoor pollution and low living standards in these countries results in an untold death toll, but green activists don't care about the poor - all they are interested in is pushing their anti-humanist agenda onto all of us.
Coal and its products are essential to maintain and increase our standard of living. Responsible coal developments must be allowed to proceed without years of legal challenges.
