Our Mission: To remove the Mississippi state flag on the Mississippi State University campus and eventually the removal of the Mississippi state flag across the state, and give legislature reason to ban the flag. The confederate flag portrays a negative insight on the history of this country and it does not align with the culture or values of Mississippi State University.

The momentum behind this movement is growing faster than I imagined. It is clear that the campus is ready for this change.

This flag isn't a symbol of "southern heritage"; it was adopted during reconstruction in the 1890's. It's a symbol of hate, bigotry, and structural violence. Take it down!

Attended MSU from 1975-1978 and I hope for hundreds of attendees at your protest. We need to change the flag to one flag for all.

MSU is a powerful voice in Mississippi. We should be standing up for what is right and using our voice for good rather than standing passively on the sidelines, especially when our own students tell us they are hurt and offended by our refusal to do so. Take it down.

Plenty of others have already made the argument. The state flag was adopted in the Jim Crow era by segregationists. We're the last major university in the state to act, and it's time for us to do more than just talk about doing what is right.

As a former MSU student and native Mississippian, I find such images as the Confederate flag troubling and a bitter part of the past. Let's take a stand and be on the right side of justice and history!

Please take down. In the current contemporary racial climate I find it offensive, rude and not consistent with the university's wish and goal to obtain and retain diverse talent.

Let's all be glad that these millennial rabble-rousers didn't get their way. Flags are symbols, and symbols are solely defined by individual opinions. What's racist to one person isn't necessarily racist to the next, and if anyone out there thinks the MS State flag is a symbol of Southern heritage, it deserves to fly same as any other.

It's not fair to those who see the flag as history... or to those that had family fighting for that flag.
