We ask that before march each classroom receives one 3 bin system. We also ask that you provide 3 bin systems in all houses, apartments.

As someone who came from Iowa, I didn't know that recycling was taken seriously here in California, I had no idea of the 3 bin system at all. Once I knew about it, I also really didn't take it under consideration because my apartment complex didn't provide the 3 bins. We only had the landfill and recycling, but no compost so my family and I were obligated to put it in the landfill bin.

In my public service classes, we collected and inspected garbage cans where we found that 85% of the trash was contaminated. Contamination is basically like poisonous, or just polluting substances were present where they shouldn’t be. Therefore we believe that having a 3 bins system can help make improvements at OC.

If Mrs. Ryan creates the 3 bin system, then our school will for sure start taking recycling seriously. Our school must have a 3 bin system for helping the environment. If the 3 bin system gets created then there will be less pollution in the air and the ocean. This would show that O’C values its environment and its community. This is why we ask that Mrs. Ryan does the 3 bin system. We will be building a stronger and better community for our school.
