Its about time the Government helped those that help themselves.
More encouragement should be given to people that have:- continually worked all of their lives, bought or morgaged their own properties.
These people are continually watching people helped around them that can not be bothered to help themselves and when and if the time comes when they want or need help they are sent away with nothing.
Example:- Two neighbours, one owns their property one is council, one has worked hard all their lives, one has not. In all that time the home owner pays for things like new windows, kitchen, boiler etc, the Council get a call from the other person and low and behold they get new windows, new kitchen and new boiler, where is the help for those that help themselves.
When the homeowner loses their job, they can not claim Housing Benefit because they own their own home, but if their roof suddenly started leaking and they needed a new roof they would be left to rot, on the other hand the Council tenant would get a lovely new roof!
No safety net to those that help themselves when they need it, but a big safety net for those that don't!
So lets start helping those that have helped themselves and hit those that never have, perhaps when people see that more help is given to those that help themselves they may get off their own backsides and get on with a life of work and aspiration!
