Tighten Swiss Gun Laws
Over 42% of the Swiss population own firearms. That’s 3.4 million guns in circulation around a population of only 8 million. This is a problem, as the domestic homicide and suicide rate of Switzerland is higher than any other country in Europe, with the exception of Finland, totaling around 1100. The majority of these are carried out with a gun, with almost 200 gun suicides alone every year (just under 20%). It is legal to carry a gun in the street in Switzerland, which could all too easily lead to trouble.
Help tighten gun laws by banning guns for people with no need for one (e.g. as part of their profession, serious hobby, etc.). Additionally, help ban the carrying of firearms in the street for all but those who need them for legal purposes.
